Christan Maxwell

My name is Christan Maxwell, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Intern providing services to the Las Vegas community. I work with couples, individuals, and children ages 4 to 17. I am deeply committed to trauma-informed care, ethical practice, and promoting diversity and inclusion in all aspects of my work. I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community and adolescents, particularly those affected by ADHD and trauma. My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy to support families and individuals in reaching their goals. Throughout my experience, I have supported clients dealing with body dysmorphia, anxiety, depression, multiple personality disorder (DID), bipolar disorder, sex trafficking, and sexual abuse. I bring both professional and personal insight to my practice as a mother of two young adults currently attending UNLV. My mission is to make a meaningful difference in our community by providing compassionate and effective care to those in need.

Fun Things About MeI enjoy spending time outdoors and find peace in activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, and hiking—especially when they lead to hidden scenic views. I also have a love for nostalgic games such as chess and backgammon, which I find both relaxing and mentally engaging. Traveling is one of my favorite ways to recharge, and I’m especially drawn to historical locations where I can learn about the culture, stories, and people who shaped the past. Whether I’m exploring nature or diving into history, I value experiences that bring connection, reflection, and a deeper appreciation for the world around me.

My role also involves engaging in clinical supervision, participating in ongoing training, and staying informed on ethical standards and best practices to ensure culturally responsive, trauma-informed care for all clients.
