Mignon Ramsey

Hi there, my name is Mignon Ramsey and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist – Intern. I am currently working towards full licensure and enjoying helping my clients along the way. I attended Indiana University – Bloomington where I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a double minor in Psychology and Human Sexuality. I utilized this knowledge to work with families in Indianapolis, Indiana as a Family Case Manager for the Department of Child Services for over 5 years.

During this time, I noticed the lack of mental health support for the underprivileged population in my community. I witnessed families fight to the best of their ability in working towards reunification with their children, but a lack of support and unmet mental health needs often held them back. It is the understanding of these life experiences that contributed to my desire to help towards healing others as a therapist. I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana Wesleyan University where I was afforded the opportunity to work with individuals, families, and couples from many different walks of life.

I have experience working with symptoms such as depression/ anxiety, trauma, phase of life transitions, adoption, grief/loss, and attachment difficulties. Through compassion and empathy, I strive to create an atmosphere of safety where clients understand they are free of judgment. As an Emotion Focused Therapist, it is my goal to work collaboratively with clients as they are the experts on their lives and experiences. Positive change takes place when you are able to create new emotional experiences and interactional patterns, and I am excited to guide you through that therapeutic process.  =)
