Margarita Portillo

Hi, I am Margarita. I am a bi-lingual, clinical social work intern. I believe each person is different in their own way, and each person’s therapy needs are unique. Growing up in a single parent household I learned a lot going through adversity, but I also learned a lot of good things. As a young adult I realized that I had a passion for working with others to help them overcome challenging times in their life. When I decided my career path was social work and I obtained my bachelors and master’s degree in social work, I knew I was committed in providing the highest level of services with sympathy and empathy to anyone I provided services to.  I have worked with foster youth in child protective services, geriatric in an inpatient skilled facility, and in schools with youth and their families in a school setting. My background has contributed to my understanding of those around me in their time of need, and in providing therapy it is rewarding to observe those I serve, grow, and overcome challenges they struggled with.
